Comanche County Municipal Court Warrants
City code runs these courts. Comanche County municipalities use them for traffic, parking, and nontraffic misdemeanors under local ordinances. Miss a date or leave a fine unpaid and the court can issue a warrant. The label varies. Oklahoma's blank OCCA form says "cost arrest warrant," while local pages say warrant, failure to appear, or failure to pay. Do not expect "capias." Comanche County's own public pages do not use it as a routine label. A city warrant is not automatically a District Court warrant. City police or another authorized officer may serve it. A county Sheriff page may not show the whole city file, so go by the citation and the court named on it, and see the Comanche County warrant records home for the wider map of city, county, detention, and federal issuers.
Comanche County Municipal Warrant Types
Some towns publish more than others. Lawton, Cache, and Elgin keep active court pages. Fletcher, Geronimo, Chattanooga, Faxon, Indiahoma, Medicine Park, and Sterling appear only in the 2015 Oklahoma DPS municipal-court export, which is not a current directory for Comanche County.
| City route | Municipal court detail | Warrant boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Lawton | 100 S Railroad, 580-581-3265, weekday office route. | FTA and unpaid citation can create a warrant. |
| Cache | Clerk 580-429-3354 ext. 2; P.O. Box 466. | Court not of record; no public all-name search found. |
| Elgin | 8183 State Highway 17, 580-492-5777. | FTA may bring a warrant and added fine. |
| Smaller towns | Use current town office or citation. | Do not infer current fees or hours from 2015 data. |
Lawton Is Its Own Court Door
Lawton runs its own courtroom. Its municipal court has exclusive jurisdiction over criminal and traffic misdemeanors under city ordinances in Comanche County. The clerk keeps files and schedules settings. Payment questions go there too, and failure to appear or unpaid citations can result in a warrant. Judges assess amounts during office hours. After hours the route runs through Lawton Police. The online payment path excludes driver-license, criminal, drug or alcohol, animal-welfare, Neighborhood Services, and Revenue Services matters. A card fee applies, personal checks are not accepted, those rules are Lawton's alone in Comanche County, and the county jail-versus-sheriff page shows where booking and service split around a city-court matter.
In Comanche County, city police records and city court records are linked, but they sit at different counters.
Comanche County Municipal Warrant Checks
Call the city clerk first. Lawton lists 580-581-3265. Cache lists 580-429-3354, extension 2, and Elgin lists 580-492-5777. For a town with no page, read the citation. Use the official town contact route, and remember that Sheriff Records at 580-353-4280 is the county fallback for Sheriff-held information, not a substitute for any Comanche County municipal clerk. Ask the right questions. Does the city have a warrant, is payment allowed, and must a judge see you? How does the clerk record a recall or release? A payment portal moves money without searching names. The county's Most Wanted description is a publication boundary, not a complete list of Comanche County municipal warrants.
Comanche County Municipal Court Warrant Records
City pages share no single format. In Comanche County, a citation or clerk screen may list the city, court date, citation number, amount, FTA event, payment method, or appearance instruction. The OCCA blank form adds case-number and return fields. It still does not prove how each city formats its records.
| Citation number | The key reference for a city clerk call, such as LAW-TR-2026-01 as an illustration only. |
|---|---|
| Municipality | Identifies the city court, which controls the ordinance case. |
| FTA or payment event | Shows why a warrant may have been issued or what remains due. |
| Amount | Could be fine, cost, convenience fee, or bond, and needs confirmation. |
| Status | Ask whether the city and serving agency both show the same current status. |
Comanche County Municipal Warrants: Cache Offices
Cache Municipal Court calls itself a court not of record. Do not read that as toothless. The court still has a clerk and files. Consequences are real in Comanche County, where it handles city ordinance, traffic, nontraffic, and parking matters. An FTA may add fines, fees, and a warrant. Payment runs by phone, mail, online, or in person. Cache Police is a separate records office. Its page describes written requests, a self-addressed envelope, and fees for police records, which are not the same as paying a municipal warrant. Court questions go to the clerk; police incident-record requests go to the police records route in Comanche County.
Use the city’s current page for the clerk route and payment limits.
Comanche County Municipal Warrants: Elgin Details
Elgin Municipal Court, in Comanche County, sits at 8183 State Highway 17, with P.O. Box 310 and 580-492-5777. Hours run Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday hours are 7:00 to 11:00. Court usually falls on the third Thursday. Payment runs by mail, online, or in person. A drop box is offered too, but it is only a delivery method and not proof of same-day recall. Elgin warns that an FTA can bring a warrant, an added FTA fine, and a submission tied to driver-license suspension. Call the clerk and ask how this Comanche County court acknowledges a time-sensitive payment or appearance.
Keep the citation number and court date with any clerk call.
Clearing a Comanche County Municipal Warrant
Follow the issuer's exact procedure. Can the clerk take payment, and must a judge assess the amount? Ask whether a new date can be set, whether bond is required, and where after-hours custody questions go. Comanche County has no shared municipal motion form or fee.
Do not assume: A city payment receipt, a county bond schedule, or the absence of a name on the Sheriff’s Most Wanted page is automatic warrant clearance.
A Lawton city warrant follows the court FAQ. That path runs through the clerk and a judge, with Lawton Police after hours. Cache and Elgin each need their own clerk's word. A county case goes to the Court Clerk criminal office and Sheriff Records, so keep written proof in Comanche County and ask when the city system and the serving agency will update.
Comanche County Municipal Warrant Roles
Comanche County splits warrant work across offices. A municipal judge signs city process, and city police may serve it and book the person on that city warrant. For county matters, the Sheriff's Records Division verifies county warrants and protective orders, while the Court Clerk holds the District Court files. One person's situation can touch all of these roles, yet none of them merge into a single database.

Comanche County Municipal Warrant Terms
A few terms come up often in Comanche County municipal warrant paperwork. "FTA" stands for failure to appear. "Failure to pay" means a court amount went unpaid past its due date. The blank OCCA municipal form uses "cost arrest warrant" for its language. When the issuing court withdraws its process, that is a recall. A bond secures release or a future court appearance, but it does not dismiss the city case itself.
- Court not of record
- Cache’s description of its municipal court status, not a statement that no file exists.
- City warrant
- Process from a municipal court for city-code matters.
- Payment route
- A way to send an amount, not necessarily a live status check.
- Serving agency
- City police, Sheriff, or another authorized officer, depending on the process.
Use the citation and issuing city to translate the term.
Accessing Comanche County Municipal Warrants
The Oklahoma Open Records Act gives the public a right to ask. Still, municipal records in Comanche County can be restricted, sealed, juvenile, protected, or simply outside any web portal. Asking police for their records is not the same as asking a court for a warrant, and a city payment page is never a complete live list.
Access rule: Title 51 §24A.5 supports inspection and copies subject to exemptions. Ask the issuing city clerk what record can be released and use Sheriff Records for the county operational question.
For a full access map, use the Comanche County warrant check. Never post personal identifiers in a tip form or public comment.
